wow. since this started life as some manuscript written in 24 hours to win a contest, I was expecting to have to forgive some inherent shoddiness or rushed quality. but that isn't happening. all that's happening is: I love it, and I want to read something else by this author later on, to see what level of stupendousness occurs when she actually writes something to a regular schedule. I'm impressed. I don't know if this is gonna turn out to be more Valley of Lights or Falling Angel, than Murder at the Vicarage, but either way, it's a terrific effort so far!
