flowing smooth and dark, with froth--it's a terrific Crime novel. Mulcahy, Brogan, Siobhan the snoop, various cops and a main suspect (too simple?), and a "serial killer" who hasn't actually killed anyone yet (that we know of), but does things that make a slow death look merciful. plus, Dublin, tied painfully to Spain for the duration of these horrific acts. it's intense and intelligent and wonderfully written (if a bit more straight-up Police Procedural than I was expecting, but he does it well). love it.
