Version Control: A Novel - Dexter Palmer

his writing style and turn-of-phrase technique is such that if the characters just sat around eating apples, and thinking about their pasts and the world around them, it would be an interesting book. this is keeping me from being at all antsy about a slow-moving main plot. this near-future obviously has its secrets, and I don't mind if they stay hidden a while longer; overall--maybe more D. G. Compton (A Usual Lunacy), than Philip K. Dick, or maybe some kind of strange crossbreed of both, with the Compton vibe more prominent. I love this book.
