I read the Introduction by Martin Edwards and then stopped; the Buddy Read for this starts tomorrow. this is supposed to be a superior "Locked Room" Mystery, by a master of that sort of thing, but unlike John Dickson Carr--who excelled at this type of whodunit--Anthony Wynne's books disappeared into limbo. there's a hint in the Intro that Wynne was not the stylist Carr was, and that probably affected lasting popularity, but I'm pretty amenable to all but the most wooden styles, in books like these, if the Mystery content can hook me. it would affect final rating and reaction, though. I'm also a sucker for neglected works and forgotten authors...and this book hasn't been reprinted since 1931! so I have to leap into the breach and save it from going away again.
