this book was lent to me by a good friend, who reads many things I recommend to him or just give him when I'm done--and long ago, I'm the one who turned him on to Matthew Reilly, via Temple, which we both loved. all this means is that I read this without even caring what the plot is, and it turns out that it's a Murder Mystery. this, when I thought I was taking a one-book break from Crime & Mystery picks. perfectly fine, and I'm really enjoying this, but it means I will not read a Crime & Mystery book after the Gil North book, coming up next. anyway, just my little system getting thrown for a loop, and me adjusting.
